Try restarting the FireStudio, or starting up Logic with it off to eliminate that as the problem. I've had similar issues occasionally and it's always turned out to be the my FireStudio. I'm using the beta drivers and it seems to have an issue when the computer goes to sleep and getting the latency/buffer-size settings correct. At lest when I get it working it works wonderful! I used it to record nearly 13 hours of continuous audio this weekend at 96k and I didn't have any issues at all.
