Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

I have stripped silence from 24 minutes of dialogue, leaving 7  
minutes that I want to push all together into one 7-minute audio  
file.  If I select in the bin and add all to one track, the regions  
do what I want, but every time I make any changes, I have to delete  
the regions off the track, reselect in the bin and add back onto the  
track.  The "Tie Regions..." commands make them contiguous by  
lengthening them.  Is there a command somewhere that makes them  
contiguous by moving them?  My current method is cumbersome.
