I'm not sure exactly how you're doing it, but it worked for me with the arrow. You should have 3 (nodes) dots - the initial 120 node, the final 60 node and the blue curve node. You used the pencil to create a 60bpm node at the end. When you hover over the node, you get the up/down arrow cursor. When you hover over the line you get a hand, and when you hover over the Tempo Curve Node, you get an index finger pointer. If the curve node dot is right above/at the 6bpm point, then drag the blue dot towards the middle of the song to get and modify the gradual transition. I don't think I'm making sense right now, but if I am, give it a shot.
