Also if you can take a couple of small UPS devices along and plug them
into the generator power and your equipment into them.. That way you
have surge etc protection and crash protection!!
Small UPS's are not too heavy and although may only last say 5 minutes
or 10 minutes in a power outage can be a godsend for isolating your
equipment from power glitches surges etc. (and that is in any
situation nor just outdoor stage situations)
I have a couple of small APC UPS's that are great for the job (each
not much bigger than a shoe box) .. They have 4 outputs each and work
brilliantly.
I have used them in live music situations here I have laptops etc
plugged in to ensure clean power and some crash protection. Not
perfect but gives me a lotta peace of mind
