Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

Many thanks for all the replied about mastering and I'm trying the  
advice out and will let you know how I get on. Now I have an urgent  
problem (again). I have a singer coming round in twelve hours, I've  
been without power for two days and finally got it back but don't have  
time to figure out this problem.

After reading a few reviews I bought the FastTrack Pro audio  
interface. Then I couldn't install the driver from the CD (then found  
others had this problem on mac) so I downloaded and installed the  
driver from M Audio's site to my mac hd. Then I went to preferences in  
the mac settings and chose the Fastrack pro which was listed as an  
option, so I am guessing that the driver downloaded ok. I chose  
headphones for the output. In Logic 8 I chose the Fast Track Pro as  
the audio device and saved the change. Now I have no sound output at  
all. I can see the sound running through the mixer, but its not  
outputting to my headphones, nor to the audio interface.

I tried choosing the audio interface as my output device in mac  
settings but it says there is no output control for the device. It  
also says there is no input control either although the meter shows it  
is hearing the input from the mic.

I can hear itunes through my headphones ok, its just in Logic where  
there is now no output.

Could anyone suggest what blindingly obvious thing I have missed?
