Re: Old MIDI Fader unit as Logic Control Surface

2009-11-14 by k_e_moeller

I figured out part of this -

1. doubleclick software fader

2. preferences>control surfaces>learn assignment for "volume"

3. move corresponding physical MIDI fader.. it says it learns it

4. continue for all SW and physical MIDI faders

Then I can indeed 'mix' after a fashion, (except SW fader 1 keeps losing MIDI fader 1 and I have to keep re-training it)

and

BOUNCE mode utterly ignores all this so I gather I have to either LATCH or WRITE every fader move I make, so that the mix is automated and plays back properly during the Bounce.

Except LATCH or WRITE causes the faders to LOSE their MIDI connection at random, and I can no longer stop/start with the space bar.. do I have to get into RECORD mode to WRITE or LATCH this volume automation coming from the MIDI fader??

I know it's ignorance, but I really dislike aspects of this program.

any help would be most welcome!
