Subject: [Logic_Cafe] Logic Alternative

Hi I have a son who is starting to work with music software. He knows his way around Logic from my studio but he uses Windows and isn't interested in migrating so my question is which program should he go for. He just needs an entry package (that's mainly because of money) but it must include something like a decent sampler so he can get access to my samples. He will probably use a drumtrack, 3-4 keyboard-sounds and 8-12 audiotracks so something like Logic Express would be great if it only existed for Windows.
He has the Line6 KB37 soundcard (or whatever that strange beast is) which included Live7 Lite but the problem is that the interface is very different from Logic so I'm guessing that he won't catch on to that as fast as he would probably like.
I tried to download Reaper but that doesn't include anything so that's probably not it either unless there are a lot of freeware out there that could be used with it.
Maybe somebody here has had the same experiences or know of a forum where these things are discussed, I just realized that I have been shopping in the Proworld for so long that I have lost contact with the other end.
