Charles, thanks for sharing. Very cool stuff. Sounds like you have used the EVOC20 a bit. I really like Softer excerpt - nice beats and beeps. Did you use Logic's virtual synths, or outboard gear or other AU's? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Thanks for listening and responding. I really appreciate it. EVOC is one of my preferred synths. I don't own any out board synths anymore. When writing I use LP7 virtual synths, Reaktor, Terra, Cube and Crystal. Although much of the material is only LP7 synths. Are you going to put out a CD? IDM is refreshing to listen to - and there is a lot of open space for creativity there. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

does anyone know if you can obtain logic pro VST's, namely ultrabeat, for use in logic express? I would really like to have a virtual drum machine to use in logic express, how do I get ultrabeat? thank you for the help.. However, there are a number of similar plug ins you can buy. - Linplug's RMIV plays samples and generates tones, and I got it on a group buy for under $60 awhile back. -I mainly use Battery by NI - it doesn't generate its own tones, but you can add multiple samples to each of 72 cells, and shape the sound of each cell with a lot of processing capabilties. Its currently being sold very cheaply via NI's 10 year anniversary sale that will end soon. - ther are a bunch of other ones which are more sample based but often have loops - RMX Stylus? Drumcore, Drumline, ... i forgot their names. But all of them work with Audio Units. And I assume Logic Express would allow you to use those, since Garage Band allows for AU plugs.

Thanks for the recommendations! I too needed a good drum sampler and read your reply... I went right to the NI site & listened to Battery... Then I bought it! Thanks again! charlie __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Guys -- rather than just a sample, what about something that has algorithmic support to intelligently add fills and not sound so "loopy"? Something like Jamstix or GrooveAgent? Any recommendations? /\ndy

I use Stylus RMX, it does the job pretty well! You can more or less decide how much "life" you want to add to your pattern. Recommended :) On Aug 21, 2006, at 11:37 PM, Andrew Hunt wrote: > > On Aug 21, 2006, at 2:01 PM, charlie eisenhardt wrote: > > > Thanks for the recommendations! I'm pretty fond of fxpansions GURU, which does beat slicing, has plenty of effects, etc. It doesn't algorithmically add fills, but it will let you analyse beats and swap the instrumentation around.
