[Logic_Cafe] Using Logic 5.5.1 to control another sequencer

[Logic_Cafe] Using Logic 5.5.1 to control another sequencer

2007-12-20 by Chaz

I have been having problems getting a VST to run in Logic, and I know it runs in other sequencers. Is it possible to:

1. Set up the VST in question on Brand X sequencer

2. Trigger it all from Logic?

3. If you are doing this, what software are you using?

Any help with this sort of thing would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

One trick for doing this is to invest in Energy XT. Version 1.4 and 2.x
will both run as a plugin inside Logic 5.5.1 PC and you can run
Logic-incompatible VSTi's inside EnergyXT. You can do other things like
layer synths that way too.

Thank You very much!....What would be the main difference between the versions?

Energy XT 1.4 is a modular environment with all kinds of capabilities -
people liken it to a swiss army knife. eXT2 is still evolving - it is a
complete rewrite which has yet to gain some eXT 1.4 features. It seems
to be aimed at being a complete cross platform host - currently it runs
on Windows, Linux and OSX. If you buy eXT2, you get 1.4 as well I
believe. If you buy 1.4 second hand and transfer the licence to yourself
you can upgrade to 2.04 for free still (I think).

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
