I have being trying to use the Stradivari solo violin from garritan with logic, but up until now i haven't being successful in doing so. -which of the four versions that come with the violin should i use? -should i use them all simultaneously and if so, how? I'm not talking about the various techniques because they, a would say, are well explained. thank you all

What exactly is happening? and what are the four version? Is there an error
message?
I don't have the solo violin, but in the past, I installed only the AU
version (of the kontact player) of Garritan Personal Orchestra and that worked fine
(albeit with the ugly workaround of having to make two tracks for each
instance, where one had a loop putting the mod wheel to max repeatedly). When I did
the install this time, I didn't install that. Instead I got the Kontact player
from NI, and copied the samples over, then I run it via Kontact 2 player. I
feel its best to reduce as many middle men (programmers) as possible.

Quick question: can any of you give an opinion about how MOTU Orchestral compares to Garritan? I have MOTU which sounds fine but when I listen to Garritan at my friend's studio (he has CuBase I think) it seems as though the strings sound a little smoother. thoughts? t _____

The instructions are very extensive in the use of this library as a standalone and very instructive musically although it doesn't clarify if the user has to have all the versions loaded at the same time. but when it comes to the use as a plug-in other issues arise such as the KS not responding exactly as per the manual. By the way my equipment includes every item in the list of "System Requirements" in the manual. This is really frustrating and i resist myself in believing that this software doesn't work the way it should because I have being using the other Garritan libraries very successfully.

I don't have MOTU, but I have GPO and Sonivox. The Sonivox strings sound
better and smoother to me. They have various downloads, up through a big version.
However, I felt one of the best purchases I ever made was getting the M-audio
strings made by Sonivox - it was under $100, works in the EXS24, and they
sounded rich and smooth right off the bat. Plus no need for that mod-wheel kluge.
