I just installed Logic Express on my ibook and I can't don't hear
anything when I try to play the tutorial song. Any suggestions?

If you are running throught the built-in audio in the mac, then make sure that the volume is turned up sufficiently (near to full). There is a little speaker icon in the top right of the screen and a sound control panel (Apple Menu > System Preferences ...).

The strange thing is that it's only the tracks recorded through the
midi or keyboard that I can't hear. When I recorded vocal tracks
with the microphone, they
played back fine. Are there any other menus that specify what
outputs different tracks are
played back?

In the arrange window, on the left, the bottom box refers to the
track information. Highlight the midi track you can't hear and then
examine the info in the box i just mentioned. You'll see which device
you're using, the program and the volume towards the top of the box.
You could've just not assigned the soundcard to the track yet, or
maybe the volume is down. Most likely, it's a no driver situation.

Zac,

There was a problem with the tutorial which might also have spilled over into the demo
song but not sure. Apple posted this"

Also, seemed like there were different demo songs and you should load the one that is the
smaller one and try that.

Hope this helps.

Charlie,

Thanks for the link, I think the new download helped. I can hear now.

Also, I think I was trying to record to midi when I was really looking for the garage band
instruments.

Thanks again for the help,
Zac
