Hal, You are right, the 1600 and 1500 are both period correct running in pushrod form with twin Weber DCOE Carbs,(Sorry no twin cam). The Kent block is really the only one to go for as there are tons of readily available tuning parts and knowledgeable tuners. This is still the Block used for vintage formula based 1600's although they have sadly gone out of production. ( they were still produced in South Africa until quite recently). What is the spec for the one you have in mind? What gearbox is with it? There are so many variations it is probably wise to pin down the application ( race, fast road etc) before you make a buy decision. if you tell me what you will be using it for we can give you a period spec. and some idea of how much you should expect to spend. Roger is in England right now but when he gets back I will get him to sketch out the Rollbar configuration he used. Quite tricky in the wooden chassis. I will also post some pictures of how we mounted mine in the steel chassis. Hope this helps.
