exhaust systems and radiators

exhaust systems and radiators

2002-06-19 by pverdeyen

Can anybody tell me on 1600GT what radiator was used?
Also, what was the source of the rear exhaust box on these cars? It
would appear that if I can find somebody suitable, I should have a
length of exhaust piping bent to join the end of the exhaust manifold
and back box, but does anybody know better??
Thanks

For an alternative to "mufflers" and due to the fact that our ground
clearance is minimal, check out this site:

www.carchemistry.com/ccinserts/html

after reading that go to www.carchemistry.com/aboutcarchem.html (just
click on "car chemistry" at the top of the page.

Gives a good explanation but does it work??? All we need is a
guinea-pig to buy a set! Probably be me because I snapped a bracket
last weekend and my mufflers (silencers) are pretty beat up. Sounds
good tho!!

Don,

I took a look at the site and I imagine the system would work well for a
Marcos with limited clearance. They imply, but don't appear to catagorically
state, that the system is stainless steel. Do you know if that is so? I have
a similar stainless steel system from England that is 20 years old and going
strong but I may have to replace it some day and having a more local source
would be preferred.

Paul,

Just talked to the factory and the inserts are NOT stainless. He said
they have been on the market since '97 and they have had no complaints
or returns due to disintegration. Said that they probably have the same
life as a muffler. For me here in California, it's not really a concern
because I try not to drive in the wet, and don't drive it in the winter
months. When I do drive it I make sure the ride lasts long enuf to
dissipate any condensation that could form rust.
