Another found Marcos in museum

Another found Marcos in museum

2003-06-19 by Don Lattimer

Hi all,

Just found a Marcos in the Marconi Museum in Tustin, CA (near Los Angeles).

http://www.fast-autos.net/features/marconi/106.html

Early wood frame with LHD.

I've contacted them and am waiting for a reply. It could be the "Mystery
Marcos" that was restored here in my home town and sold at auction in early
'90's. I'll let you know!

Still looking Maarten..................

Hello Don,

I saw a past email that was accidently erased from my computer about one of our members in England planning on putting an order of Marcos parts together for those of us in the states. I need a distributor cap, a set of points, and a speedo cable for my 3-liter English Ford V-6.
Also, has anyone had any experience in installing an electric fuel pump as my mechanical pump is giving up the fight.

Best Regards,

Rick,
I have a set of points if you need them right away. I converted to the Pertronix ignition which is well worth the price. $89 I believe. No more points, better spark, etc. Fits under dist. cap.
If you decide to go to Pertronix the part # is 1264. Can only be got in the US at:
Very helpful folks.

Don,

Thanks for the info. I found a new set of points and a new distributor cap that I forgot I had so am in good shape for now. I am going to check out the Pertronix Ignition though, as I just installed an electric fuel pump and for the first time now have decent fuel pressure to work with so any extra spark will be a bonus.
I also just installed a new set of 205/60R13 Sumitomo HTR4 tires and love them. They are speed rated to 134mph, handle very very well, have a tread pattern for all seasons for those that drive in the rain, and the tread looks like old dirt track tires which really suits the period of the car and look great as well. I did not pick up any additional ground clearance but also no extra weight either.

Take Care,

Rick Harding
