Possibly but I doubt it. The UK Capri had the Essex V6 but the US model had the German "Cologne" V6. Two totally different animals.

Also, the Cologne V6 was a 2.8 litre engine which in the US had lousey performance. I had a Capri with that engine so I know from first-hand experience. The British 3 litre Capri was a different animal. It went like a bat out of hell.

Bob,

  Don is correct. The US version of the Capri only came with the Cologne V6, 
a totally different engine to the Essex. There are limited tuning parts 
available but they are expensive.  Need an essex?

Garry,

I'd like to locate a "newer" style Essex. Mine is the early type with the dipstick at the front left of the engine and the deep part of the sump in front. Would rather have the later style because more stuff is available.

Garry,

Can you get me some pricing? I won't have a trade-in core so that might make a difference. They say on their website there is a surcharge if an earlier engine is exchanged. I would probably be interested in the standard reconditioned engine or the Stage I depending on pricing. Thanks.
