It'll never happen!

Don't know about all 200 at one time but... here is my
contribution.

I am taking #5179 to an antique motor boat show at
special invitation because of the wooden frame. The
show sponsor thinks the car fits in well with the
fancy wood boat crowd.

Bob
I'm involved with sail boats (I built my Ingrid ketch, so I help friends with their yachts etc.). The way your Marcos was built is the way most glass boats are still constructed today, the core materials have expanded to the new materials but high end plywood is still used in a lot of applications. This construction technology makes the hull and deck of the yachts have the strength and stiffness required at a very low weight. So you can go out a buy a new sailing yacht and spend X thousands/millions of $$ and get the same construction technology as #5179! So enjoy the show!!
Thanks

Stephen,

The Ingrid Ketch looks to be a really nice boat, how
long have you owned one? How long did it take you to
build it? Is that what led you to the Marcos? Years
ago I crewed on an Express 37, on the southern part of
the Chesapeake Bay. At that time we had the fasted
rated boat in our class and it was a composite
construction of the type you mentioned. I was
responsible for and installed all the electronics on
board. I live in the mountains now but I sure do miss
the sailing action when I lived close to the bay.

Don,
Did you plant that kit marcos on e-bay to get all 200 members to
write.......That certainly was a clever ploy. Has anyone had the heart{nerve} to
let that guy know it is a kit and kinda misrepresented?

No I didn't, but it did create a little traffic. I have his phone # and will be talking to him tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted.

Don,
I asked him for the vin# but he said that he didn't know where to find
it. I haven't gotten back to him but if you could pass along the probable
location I would be curious as to how it is a "67" do you know how they vin ed the
kits...I didn't notice any info on any of the marcos sites that show vins
Thanks,
           Hal

Don
Let me know if he is open to a visit, since this car can not be more than 15 miles from me! It would be interesting to track the car down (the older registration could be of value). Hope all is well with you and your Marcos!
Thanks

Hal,
In Florida, one applies for a State assigned VIN and the inspector places the tag (in the Marcos) the same place as the origional- on the brake pedal box top.
