From what I understand, the case is
finished in polyester, which means that you can use a regular paint stripper to
remove the black paint. Regular stripper will not touch a polyester
finish. If you scuff the white up, white cabinet lacquer, or a quick dry
enamel will stick pretty good. I should point out here, that this is the
only part of mellotron restoration that I know something about, and only from
the other refinishing that I do day in and day out.
