Mellotronists

All this talk of Fripp etc has reminded me of how nice Ian McDonald 
is when meeting/talking to fans!

I've talked with him on the phone and met him in person on two 
occasions. He was so easy to talk with, very open, no pretention or 
ego. He gave me some good advice on flute playing etc.

He produced an album for a band called, Fireballet in
the early 70's.  

Their first album, "Night on Bald Mountain" contained
plenty of classical quotes and 're-interpretations' -
including the title track.

I loved the disc - released in quadraphonic (...yeah,
I dig the old quad recordings...)  They did a 2nd disc
- flopped - I think they disbanded...

The production of the first album was pretty damn
good.  I was curious if Ian ever worked with any of
the band members again?
