Greetings All, Once again, Mellotrongirl has brought-forth a good point.

I'm no expert about eBay, but have been a member almost eight years.
....And witnessed and been a victim of several kinds of eBay misdeeds
during that time. It's there in EVERY category of collectible or item.

I contacted the seller of ClearTron #2 with direct questions about its
lineage. And used my years of Tron history and knowledge of Sound Sales
and its personnel, as basis for these questions.
Didn't get one word reply from the seller . .....Now I'm leery.....

Once again, the "caveat emptor" phrase illuminates atop a billboard.

Cheers, - JK

It's getting down to the wire and the reserve hasn't been met yet.

The seller has a 99.9% positive rating with over 600 auctions. Can
something like that be faked on eBay? I guess I'm lucky...never had
a problem.

They appear to just be a sort of pawn shop, so however they
came about possession of the unit, it's no surprise they
don't know a ton about it.
Assuming for a second it's a legit auction, i.e. the unit
pictured is actually in their possession, does it matter
the exact history of which SS guy owned it and all that?
I mean, it'd be nice to know the history of any Tron, but
my point is shouldn't any Plexiglass Tron be very rare and
worth more than $3,725 in the condition pictured?
Admittedly, they should certainly at least give the
courtesy of answering emails.
I live in Chicago and was hoping it was a bit closer in
Indiana to go check out this weekend maybe - unfortunately
it's at the opposite end of the state.

Update: I called the place, they do have a phone# on the auction
listing. It is just an eBay consignment drop-off house. The
Tron itself is still in the possession of the actual Tron's owner
but the consignment shop owner supposedly went to the guy's house
and examined it, took the photos himself, etc. So that's that.

At a minimum, they need to get their story straight on the providence
of the unit - it certainly wasn't built in the 60s. Oh yeah, he
is "very firm on his minimum reserve price of $9,000". I suspect
they will bury him in it.
