Qimage (including Ultimate) as far as I know prints through the Windows/Epson driver. It doesn't use QTR curves. There is a qtrgui program specifically written for Windows, that has in the past been the only printing program for printing on Windows using QTR and completely bypasses the standard driver and the entire Windows printing system. To print with Qimage you output a monochrome file using a qtr profile (can't remember the name) and then print the file using qtrgui. The same process (outputting a file with the correct QTR profile) can be used with Photoshop.
Unfortunately qtrgui was built for an earlier version of Windows, and hasn't been updated for some time. It works (with minor hassles if you are using a 8 colour printer) up to Windows 7, but I think there have been reports it doesn't work with Windows 8. As far as I know there isn't an alternative for PCs. I'll rertain an old PC running Wiondows 7 as long as possible.

Qimage (Ultimate) does the job as it should be done.
Set color management OFF in the Qimage driver and set color management
to Application CM in the driver and both applications + the OS (Windows)
will not interfere in that path by assigning a color space (like OS-X
would do) where no color space should be applied.
