QTR-Quadtone RIP

Thanks for the reply! Ok will try that tonight. Yes I opened up the 3880 folder and clicked on the install curve app. For the 3 curves option, I remember seeing that, do you only pick one of the curves? also not sure what the abbreviation for some of the papers... prbaryta? Will have to recheck tonight

Where are you looking for the curves? They are not the same as icc profiles and do not appear in the Printer Profile list under Color Management. Rather, click on Print Settings then select QuadToneRIP in the dropdown menu below Paper Size. You should then see fields for selecting up to 3 curves. This is where the QTR curves (profiles) are listed.
I can’t speak from experience regarding your particular paper choice since I don’t use either, but it is often possible to get excellent results using one of the supplied profiles for a similar paper. Even if they are not perfect they will be a good starting point for creating custom profiles.
BTW - the terms profile and curve are synonymous in QTR.

I have just tried to install quadtone rip and the print tool. I am using a mac , 10.9. With an Epson 3880. I think I installed both properly. I then clicked on the folder to install some of the preset curves for the 3880, but when I go to try and print using either photoshop or print tool, I can't seem to find the profiles. All that comes up for quadtone I think is gray matte and glossy. any help??
Also I plan to try and use Epson exhibition fiber, and read somewhere maybe use the preset for silver rag. Any experience doing this? any where to download this specific profile?
