QTR-Quadtone RIP

Would anybody have any idea where to start looking for the problem in
this thread?  The paper either stops right at the beginning of the
print cycle or it goes all the way through without printing.  I'm on
XP with a direct USB connected 2200.  The printer is about 8 months
old and this problem has been around for a while but has gotten to the
point now where I can't print with QTR.  The Epson driver is fine and
causes no problem.  I'm at my wits end here and can't use QTR.

Would the length of USB cable be a problem?  Right now it's about 10
or 12 feet.
