Greg,
Here's another thought.
Are you printing the two pieces separately? I.e. you print the 21step at the top
of the paper and then put the sheet in a second time to print the image?
If so - the printer has an optical sensor and can "see" the dark ink at beginning
of paper and mistake where the paper starts -- giving 2in extra feed. If you want
to do several 21steps on a sheet start at the bottom and move up. That way
the printer always sees the top of paper correctly.

Hey Greg,Roy's comments struck a memory of when this happened with my 7600 long ago. Be absolutely sure it's not set to roll on the printer itself. I'm not sure about the 7880, but on the 7600 it was easy to inadvertently switch to roll on the printer panel even though I never used rolls. This would always mess up any positioning via software.I don't have any paper size selections with "Centered" in the name for my current printers, and don't recall any for the 7600, so I don't know what to say about that. I make my own custom sizes anyhow, even for the standard ones, so maybe try making a custom 8.5 x 11 setup with equal margins. Resizing in PT shouldn't matter unless maybe somehow it thinks your canvas size is larger than the paper size, but even then you should see it in the preview, and get a warning about clipping.Check your printer panel settings.Cheers,Keith

Thanks for answering. I am printing two images in one 7x9 area on 8.5x11 paper. A photo and a 21 step chart. I am using the Print Tool app. I have printed many times before with no problems. I even installed it on another computer and got the same problem. It seems to push it down about 2 inches more than it should from the top. I will take a photo of one, but it literally stops halfway through the image. I was able to get some images to print using 11x17 inch paper and centering it. I am using an Epson 7880.Under Printer in the Print Tool App I have chosen Quad7880, Paper size is Letter Centered. Under QuadToneRip I have QuandTone Rip 16 bit chosen and the paper feed is Sheet Feed.I do resize the images in the Print Tool and I will try to print one out without resizing it to see if that makes a difference.
