Hi Piet and Cody, Sorry for the delay in info -- I've been away for a while and am just getting caught up. I've looked at both of your scans and the printing of a inkseparation in Calibration Mode. First a little history: Back several versions on the Mac you needed create a special "calib" profile in order to set ink limits when printing the inkseparation.psd. This never existed on the PC version. It was an overly complicated way to accomplish a fairly simple need. So in the process of getting the PC and Mac using more common code the special calib profiles were dropped in favor of an on-the-fly creation of dummy profiles for the inkseparation printouts. To set the ink limit the "Tone Blend" option is now used. Think of Curve1 as a 100% ink limit and Curve2 as a 0% ink limit -- the blend lets you pick anything in between. ---------------- What you both are seeing is the a real profile split into its separate ink parts. You see the LK come in at the low end and taper off, K comes in at the dark end. The solution is simple -- just leave the Curve selections at "None" and vary the Tone Blend to set the ink limits. You will then see all the inks as raw stepwedges. One other consideration is that there are a couple different inkseparation files to accommodate the greater number of inks in the latest printers. The smaller ones allow you to get 2 prints on a letter size paper but the 8 ink one doesn't quite fit.
