All the data points you supply are connected smoothly like the Adj Curves command
in Photoshop.  If the values have very uneven jumps this can create excessive swings.
This is probably what is happening.  Too much ink especially toners at the dark ink
are a common reason for this.  You might try plotting the values in a spreadsheet to
visually see where the uneven steps are.
