Hi Mark,

It sounds like an alignment issue.  Like maybe one head is up or down
a whole inkjet spacing.   This might make it look aligned but in fact 
the
jets are off by one.

I'm not familiar with the actual alignment procedure but maybe that
could be revisited.   A 720dpi file with just a few horizontal lines
one pixel in height should show what's happening.  Try this with the
Epson driver with various colors on the same line, you might see if
some are off of alignment.  I've also done some test files in the past
with QTR to show this same thing.  Let me know if I can help.
