That sounds like the chips on the cartridges don't function.
Are you sure, that all cartridges snapped in correctly?

All printed well. I changed out the OEM inks with the MIS K3 inks in
the proper positions. The printer light went on and stayed on and
nothing printed.  I shut down, re-started. Same thing...red printer
light on and no printing going on . The inks clicked into place and
they are on the correct positions. OS is windows xp.
