QTR-Quadtone RIP

Am hoping that I might receive a bit of guidance from the group...I am  
trying to install QTR for an Epson R1900 and for some reason it is not  
recognizing the printer...error message reads as follows:

"Cannot find an Epson USB printer with the name R1800

The printer must be turned on, plugged in to computer and ready
Resetting the printer may be necessary.

The firewire port cannot be used for QuadToneRIP.  If you are already  
using
firewire you must switch over to USB.  Do not plug in both USB and  
firewire."

Printer is plugged in, am using USB.  I have uninstalled QTR and  
reinstalled.  have made sure I have the latest drivers, etc but no  
luck...help!
