QTR-Quadtone RIP

Is there any way to force QTR to print from the front manual feed. I 
have coated A4 aluminum panels that I would like to print on with my 
R1800 (MK3 BO). 

I can load the panel (same sequence as loading the CD-Tray), but the 
printer still tries to load from the rear feeder and throws an error 
(flashing page feed light)..

It is possible to print the panels via the Epson driver, but I would 
like to see if there is an improvement with all 3 channels.

I would also like to try over coated rag mat.
