I am sorry I have no answer to your question but instead more
questions for you.

I also have the R1800 with 3MK. I find your idea of printing on
aluminum or rag mat a great one.

Could you give me more details about aluminum panel? Thickness etc.

Also who do you coat the panels?

I am sure many on this list might like to know also.
