Andrew, thanks for the info. I'm not quite sure how to compile a binary package, but this is what I did. After I unzipped, it opened a folder (cups-1.4.4z) & as I looked into the folder I found an install -sh 'file'. I double clicked on it & it opened a terminal window and I assume it installed as code came across in the window & at the end stated finished. If this is correct, then I will do the same for the cups 1.4.5 and hope then I will have access to custom sizes.
