QTR-Quadtone RIP

I have followed Mr. Diallo workflow for custom curves  and am at the point where he says to "drop the linearization numbers into the QTR linear app".  It is magic speak.  How do you drop numbers into an app and once its there how do you make it work.  

Apparently the app linearizes the data so that it is smooth from black to white.  But once you have done that, how do you get the data in the "curve" one has set up in an earlier step.  

I feel like i am close but far away and Mr. Diallo's description of steps need some work.

So, any help would be appreciated.
