Artisan 1430 info?

Artisan 1430 info?

2012-01-19 by William Harvey

Dear All,

Epson has a new printer called the Artisan 1430 which appears to be
very like the 1400 but with WIFI and a re-location of the controls to
the top of the printer like the 2400, 2800 etc.

Anyone know anything about this one?

Cheers

I made a post about the 1400 with the question if the Epson 1400 could handle thicker art papers. This seems to be the case, in fact the 1400 seems to handle thicker papers very well. I still can buy the 1400 but Epson has replaced the 1400 with the updated 1430 (or in europe) 1500W. This model has an updated 'appearance' as well as wifi onboard. I don't know if internal parts are changed, that's why I repeat my question here: can the Epson 1430 / 1500W handle thicker fine art matte papers? Any users who can confirm?
Thank you all.

Also consider the cartridge size if you do not plan to use a CIS. The
1500W has six 11 ML carts. The WF-7015 four 32 ML carts. Both are A3+
printers, the minimum droplet size of the 1500W is 1.5 PL, the WF7015 2
PL. The last is half the purchase price of the other.

The cart chips already hacked? otherwise use an older model. QTR support
of a printer model is another aspect to consider.

Sorry, my mistake. Epson quoted the total of 32 ML for four WF7015
cartridges. Sadly there are still no larger carts in Workforce A3+
models. The B310 and B510 A4 size remain the exception.

Thanks for your reply Ernst. Smaller cartridges of the 1400 can be a problem and is something to take in consideration. But a workaround could be the Epson 1400 CIS system that Jon Cone sells (for $150..) http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.362672/it.A/id.3284/.f?sc=15&category=8900 This will eliminate refilling small cartridges, I bet the CIS bottles can hold 100ml each. Another pro might be is that these bottles can be shaken more easily and convenient than cartridges. If the printer is not in use for longer periods it might not be a bad idea to shake pigment inks to keep them in full suspension.

Groet!
