Printing from LR3

2012-02-19 by mylek

Hello,

i'm starting to try QTR on my 3800 w/Snow Leopard.
What is the proper way to use the ICC profiles contain in the software.

Is it better to choose : let the printer manage or use the QTR ICC appearing in the list?
Also, if my paper (Ilford Gold Fibre Silk) is not listed in the ICC in the print menu, do i need to use none or UCpk-raw in the curve 1?

Thanks!

You should use the SilverRag curves for the Gold Silk paper.

Thanks!

But first do i need to choose first QTR RGB Photo Paper in LR3
and then the Silver Rag curve from the print dialog when ready to print.

On another note, i'll like to know where do i install the data for the Harman paper (UCpk-HarmanGloss-cool.txt) that i copy from the files on this forum. I installed them in the QTR profiles - 3800UC file in the application folder but they didn't appear on the curve selection in LR.

What is UC pk or mk raw use for.

After you put new profiles in 3800-UC you have to rerun the install script.
The raw curves are just unlinearized versions. For a new paper you'd
start with these and go thru the linearization process.
pk is for photo papers and mk is for matte papers.
