New QuadToneRIP version 2.7.5 for Mac and PC

New QuadToneRIP version 2.7.5 for Mac and PC

2014-05-01 by <roy@...>

QuadToneRIP version 2.7.5 Release Notes

This is both a Mac OSX release and a Windows release.

The primary additions are for various Paper Feed options.
The R3000 now supports Front Feed for both Fine Art and Poster Board options.

Roll Feed has been enhanced for the Save Roll Paper option on all
the Pro printers supporting rolls plus the R3000, R2880, and R2400 printers.
With this option you can have a long roll paper size and if you only have
images on the leading part all the blank white is chopped off
minimumizing wasted paper. This is the same as Epson driver Save Roll Paper.

The Mac release supports Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard through 10.9 Mavericks.
Windows release supports Windows XP through Windows 8.
Note that the version number in QTRgui reads 2.7.0 but you can see
the 2.7.5 version number for QuadToPrinter in the Help>About command.

Simply install this new version over existing versions.

Roy- do we know how this version handles the Cone-GO process for 7890 and x900 series printers?

I don't use the Cone-GO workflow at all and haven't ever figured out why it exists.
Some of the paper feed commands were changed for this new release so I
guess there's a possibility of it working differently but I don't think so.

Roy,
Just a question--I purchased your software several years ago when I got my 2880 and Piezo setup. Now I am retired and getting back into printing. I have updated my Mac to Mavericks, etc. and wondered if I can simply update my QTR, or do I need to purchase QTR and start over?
Thanks for your response.

Updates are included in a purchase.
But I don't see your name or email in purchases -- are you
sure you purchased it? Different email?
Buying Piezo ink is not the same thing.

Roy- does the new version -windows version- allow for resizing and viewing more like the Mac version.

Thanks for the response--I realized that Piezo is not part of the package now, and what I should have said was that I had purchased QTR to use with my new 2880 for BW printing and Conecolor ink use. It looks like an update download is all I will need if I get new equipment or ink sets, such as Piezo, but I will gather email and user documentation on my original QRT purchase in case I need it. It was several years ago. Thanks again for your great support for all your users.
