Ink separation query

Sorry if this has been asked but can't find the answer. Printing on p800 with print tool on Mac. Is it necessary to do ink separation test on each type of paper before linearisation/icc profile steps for those papers or can the data from a single ink separation result be used to create the linearisation/icc data for the various paper types?
