Am trying to figure out how to use measurements taken on printed greyscale ramp w/my Spyder spectro, and create and save .acv curves w/ QTR..can this be done? many thanks..Mark
I prefer to use numerical input and output vales in the graycurve rather than using an acv file. They are more precise than PS curves and cans be so easily changed accidentally. The other benefit of using the numeric curve settings rather than a photoshops .acv curve file is that the qidf file can be move from one computer to another without needing the .acv file or worrying about the path to the .acv file changing.
Here is a link to the page with grayscale correction curve tools: http://www.bwmastery.com/qtr-correction-curve-tool
if you really want to make .acv curves it gives you the input: output points for those as both luminance and k values.
Hope that helps,

I know there was some discussion on the use of acv curves etc recently. However, with regard to adjusting a file edited in grey gamma 2.2, with its lighter shadows, prior to printing with qtr (I am using eb6), are you suggesting using your tool to linearize a wedge printed with the gg2.2 profile? Thanks.
Regarding the adjustment of a gg2,2 file in photoshop (with it's weaker shadows) before printing in QTR, are you suggesting using your tool to linearize a stepwedge with a gg2.2 profile as a way of rectifying the shadow issue? Thanks.
