Trouble creating curves...

Trouble creating curves...

2005-12-03 by davidkeasey

I have been trying to build a set of curves for my Epson 1160, using
the UT2 inks. When I load the QUAD1160-UT Printer Model, I can then
find four sets of curves for the 1160, two for UT and two for the VM inks.

However, when I try to create a curve, I cannot find these curves to
use as a starting point.

Furthermore, when I try to build a curve from scratch, I can save the
curve just fine, but then QTRGUI doesn't find the recently-built
curve. I can't use it for a test print or go beyond the initial
curve-building step.

Am I doing something dumb here?

Thanks for any help with this.

Dave,
When you open QTR you should:
Click on Curve Creation and open the Curve Creator.
Then File->Open to find the 1160 curves.
Save the opened curve as something else.
Create the new curve and hit the Create Curve button.
Then I always save it again but I'm not sure that's necessary.
It should be there now.

Sigh...
Beat head against desk...

Yup, there it is! I thought I'd done that, but somehow managed to
screw it up.

Many thanks for your patience and help for this newbie.

Check the Printer Model that is displayed when you are in the curve creator.
That is the model you have to select when you load the curves. (Or vice versa,
make sure the model in curve creator is the one you will select in the main
window.)
