I think I might like to try this. Are curves available for this ink? I don't seem to have them in v2.4.3.6. I must be missing something here. Thanks, Tom --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "Jon Cone" <piezobw@...> wrote:

I have the curves for this printer and ink. They will be available shortly. If anyone has the inks and is deparate to use them I can email them. Roy --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "Tom Husband" <tom.husband@...> wrote:

Jon, For those of us interested in our K7 for the x8xx Epsons, are the K7 inks using blended or non blended pigments? Both in the neutral and sepia? I am asking in reference to Paul's posts about blended pigments tending to settle out in the feedlines of the larger printers during infrequent use and result in tone shifts over time. All pigment inks can settle out if motionless long enough. Right in the Epson manual it says to shake the carts before installing, are they "blended"? There have been occasional user reports of settling pigments from nearly all brands of pigment inks, blended or not, color or monochrome, with a sufficiently inactive printer. I have not yet seen one report from a K7/6 user, but they haven't been out in the world as long as most other pigment sets on the market. This is a simple maintainence issue, not an ink choice issue. It comes with the large format/pigment ink territory, and is hardly a problem. We know to keep our printers minimally active, and if for some reason we can't and have an ink settle, it's an easy fix. Shake the carts, move the settled ink out of the affected line. I have been using the standard piezotone sets in a 9600 for 3 years and have never experienced this "problem". I do some physical mixing of the sets, and some blending between those in the RIP for carefully tweaked hues. I've never had it shift. Also, it's rarely reported, and if so by someone unaware of the potential problem who let their printer sit for a month or more. I think this is a non-issue, but if I'm wrong it must be unique to certain inks. Sorry Jon, the question was to you and I jumped all over it. I am curious though, are there formulation issues that may effect pigment settling in different ink sets? Also, I forgot to mention to the original poster- standard procedure here to avoid anything like this is to take the carts out af all the printers (the OEMs too) every other Monday morning and give them a little shake. Also, if for some reason a printer has printed no paper at all in a few weeks for somew reason, I print a few inches of something, anything, at 40" wide to give the lines a lot of movement as well, and also move a bit of ink through them. Seriously, I'm extremely picky about hue subtlety for mono prints, it's never shifted. Tyler --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "Jon Cone" <piezobw@...> wrote:
