Hahnemuehle photo rag 308g/m2

Hahnemuehle photo rag 308g/m2

2006-10-24 by chinaplate@smartchat.net.au

Hello

After some trials with Paterson exhibition pearl with mediocre results I
switched to matte black and Hahnemuehle photo rag (Epson 2100 OS 10.4.7).
The results are flat with poor D-max.
There doesn¹t appear to be any profile for this paper?

I have been printing Hahnemuehle photo rag for a couple of years now
with QT.I work the print in photoshop to get the look I want t. then
before printing add about 6-10% more contrast, Go to levels pump up
the blacks to about 10-12., bring the whites to about 240... looks
like crap now.
When I get into the QT dialouge box add 15-20% more on the ink limit
and print.
Its all a matter of trial and error but once you get the look you like
it seems to fall into a instinctual formula.
This works well for me, perhaps a little too round about for you, but
give it a try.

What inks are you using? I print on Photo Rag using the Epson Enhanced
Matte curves with my 2100 plus original inks. Photo Rag and EEM are
supposed to be very similar. Verdict is still out for me, Dmax on
photorag seems to me slightly pooreer than EEM.
