What should be the ink order for the Epson 4800 quadtone curve descriptor file?

What should be the ink order for the Epson 4800 quadtone curve descriptor file?

2007-01-24 by Daniel

i've made an earlier post but deleted it because i think my initial problem is not
understanding how the piezography k7 inks should be described in the quadtone
descriptor file for the epson 4800.

i think i'll have a few other questions to ask the forum, but i i think i should focus on my
first questions. perhaps if i can get the first question answered, i think the answers for my
other questions might fall into place. i hope, but usually happens.

anyway, back to the epson 4800 and the quadtone descriptor file.

i'm using piezography k7 inks from shades 1 through 7. the ink order on the epson 4800
is K, C, M, Y, LK, LC, LM, LLK. with this information, i'm assuming that the ink order in the
curve descriptor file should also read in the same order as they're physically arranged on
the printer. therefore i have the following variables and data in this example:

PRINTER=Quad4800-K7
CURVE_NAME=(don't understand this yet)
GRAPH_CURVE=YES

N_OF_INKS=7

DEFAULT_INK_LIMIT=
BOOST_K=

LIMIT_K=
LIMIT_C=
LIMIT_M=
LIMIT_Y=
LIMIT_LK=
LIMIT_LC=
LIMIT_LM=
LIMIT_LLK=0 (zero because this will not be used. is this correct?)

N_OF_GRAY_PARTS=7
GRAY_INK_1=K
GRAY_VAL_1= (gray_val_n are blank because i haven't figure this out yet.)
GRAY_INK_2=C
GRAY_VAL_2=
GRAY_INK_3=M
GRAY_VAL_3=
GRAY_INK_4=Y
GRAY_VAL_4=
GRAY_INK_5=LK
GRAY_VAL_5=
GRAY_INK_6=LC
GRAY_VAL_6=
GRAY_INK_7=LM
GRAY_VAL_7=
GRAY_INK_8= (blank because this ink is unused. correct?)
GRAY_VAL_8=(blank because this ink is unused. correct?)

N_OF_UNUSED=1
UNUSED_INK_1=LLK

i hope my question makes sense.

thanks.

sincerely,
