EP Semi-matte neutral shows up brown?

EP Semi-matte neutral shows up brown?

2005-06-03 by stevelgbch

I've been trying QTR on my Epson 4000 and in some cases it really
looks
great. I just tried the UCpkn-EPremSMatte-neutral-2880 with some
roll
semi-matte and all the prints come out brown and white not neutral.
Other papers such as Enhanced Matte come out fine with their curves.
I
run QTR with EPremSMatte curves, photo black ink at 2880-better and
its
a very warm brown. Sepia curves looks sepia, but neutral isn't
neutral.

Also, I see very noticeable banding when using QTR which I don't see
in
color work. What might that be? Or is it just something that shows
more clearly in "black and white"? When I run the nozzle check
manually, all nozzles look like they are firing.

Thanks.

A while back I too had a B/W-only banding problem too , using 1440 dpi
on luster paper. I switched to 2880 dpi (Epson 4000 printer) and have
not had a problem since. However, it would appear from your profile
choice that you are already printing at 2880 dpi?

BTW, I just came across this link about B/W printing at 2880 dpi:

Hmm, I'll look into the 2880 issue some more, thanks.

Hi Steve,
I think that you have replied to someone else's
message. I did not post a message about a banding
problem.
