Either there are very few 3800 out there or no one uses B&W any more...
Well, since there seems to be no curves or profiles for the new 3800, I modified the install.
4800 command that installs the UC profiles for the 4800. Easy change, just copy the
command and rename it to xxxx3800 instead of xxxx4800, run it and voila! The profiles
are there.
I've tested Hahnemuhle and Epson papers, and it works like a true charm!. The output
stands a test against both an R800 and R1800 with Piezo NK7 inks!!! The added bonus are
the sepia/warm/cool settings that indeed work. Of course, when you print 17x22, the
printer reallly compares against chemical lambda prints from BWC!!! Actually they kind of
hold more detail.
The feature to mix profiles/curves for different aspect is indeed cool.
I am looking forward to professionally produced curves/profiles, but definitely the 3800 is
the way to go. It outperforms the 4800/9800 by a comfortable margin, quality-wise.
Those are my 2ยข worth of printing
