Linearize a K7 R320?

Linearize a K7 R320?

2007-05-06 by mojojones2001

Hello,

I new to this linearization process so please forgive my ignorance.
My understanding is that for the Eye One process you print out the
target, measure it, process the measure file with QTR-Linearize-Data,
then paste the LINEARIZE line into the Ink Descriptor file and
reprocess it with Drop-Quad-Profile. But there are no descriptor file
in the download so how can I do this?

thanks.

Unfortunately you are right the K7 profiles can't be re-linearized
because the
Piezo profiles don't use and don't provide the standard QTR profile
source.

You could start over again and make your own K7 profiles with the QTR
profile
program but a much easier and better thing is to create a custom ICC
profile
for printing (and softproofing in Photoshop). The method is very
similar to
linearizing but instead you use QTR-Create-ICC with the same Eye-One
data.
This makes a .icc file that is use in the Print with Preview or Proof
setup.

Roy,

But the K6 profiles can be re-linearized right? Because you made them?

Sure.
But even so, the custom ICC approach is worthwhile since you get
complete
color management -- both printing and softproofing.
