Droplet size and QTR

Droplet size and QTR

2007-08-19 by Eric Miner

Hello,

I'm not new to using QTR, but I am new to 'tuning'
profiles.

I have recently received MIS' new 3MK sinske for my R800. I noticed
right away that the prints I god from the R800 and this inkset showed a
much larger droplet size than I get from MIS inks on my R220 (which is
rated with a larger sroplet size).

I have tried all the various dither options, but this did not improve
the droplet size. Are there any values inside of a profile that can be
tweeked to affect the droplet size? At this point I find this new
inkset very dissapointing.

Thanks,

Eric

You have to use 2880dpi on the R800 to get the smallest drop size of 1.5pl.
The R220 does have larger drop sizes but if you use a light-black it may not be
as obvious.

Thanks Roy,

Yes, I use 2880. I'm wondering if there is any value or set of values
within a profile that affect droplette size. Or, any value that can be
used to eliminate 'grain'.

Thanks

The 'grain' is because of just black ink -- no light-black.
