printing problem

printing problem

2007-08-23 by arnnad

Hi. I am having a problem printing and did try downloading the latest
software version without benefit. I have Windows XP, Adobe CS3 and the
Epson 2200.

The image only prints part way, the printer then stops and I have to
remove the partial print manually. Also, the printed image is in
portrait configuation. More puzzling, in order to get the preview image
in the desired landscape mode I have to check "portrait", i.e. it's
reversed. I also checked autoconfigure, under options.

I do hope you have a solution since I would love to give the software
an adequate trial.

Thanks, Arnold Frank

You are probably suffering some sort of Windows spooler problem with the
printer. What resolution have you selected? (hint: all the supplied curves
are for 1440.)

As to the portrait vs landscape modes: If you are using standard paper
selectons things should look logical. If you have a custom size then you
need to understand that the display is oriented such that the "width" edge
is in the direction of the paper feed. If you always make your height larger
than your width things should look right, but (for instance with roll paper)
the feed direction might be a problem.

Thanks for your response. I reinstalled the program, after finding your
uninstall program. I did change the configuration of the paper size,
which is 5.5 x 8.5 to indicate the width as 5.5 and "length" as 8.5. The
prevue now is correct although it seems to me the terminology is
reversed. However, after the reinstallation I can't select a curve. I
get a message the "list index out of bounds". Since I can't select a
curve the program doesn't allow me to print!

I did select 1440 resolution, BTW. Again, thanks for your help.--- In

Can you post the QTRgui.ini file which is in your Documents and
Settings--Application Data\QuadToneRIP folder? After you do that, delete the
file and see if that cleans things up. Also, be sure you have the most
recent version of QTRgui 2.5.1.8 (http://software.sbillard.org/QTRgui.htm).

Stephan, not sure if you received my last message. I rebooted the computer and the program now seems fully functional. Do you still want me to send the file?

I guess not. If things are working now it won't tell me what went wrong.
