B&W with Sepia cast on Premium Glossy-ugh!

B&W with Sepia cast on Premium Glossy-ugh!

2005-07-16 by tom_and_marj

just down loaded QTR latest version for the MAC 2.2c. we printed B&W on only Epson
Enhanced Matte for years, and now started to test Epson Preium Glossy paper and got an
ugly sepia cast to the images. we want a cool B/W appearance, with no color cast or tint.
we tested different blends but they still have this tint.
any hints/suggestions as to how we can get the cool images we had on the Enhanced
Matte??
thanks for the help,
tomandmarj

Get a cartridge of MIS PKN and use this cool/neutral black instead of the very warm Epson
Photo black ink. You can print it black only with the Epson driver or make profiles with QTR>

I made a curve for the standard UC inkset a while back that has a cool tone
on Premium Glossy. It should still be in the file section I think.

PKN with GLOP looks much better though.

Daniell, thanks for the response. from my search I found a list of profiles you sent
someone, but found none that used UC ink. we are not - at this point - interested in trying
different inks or GLOP. can you tell us anything else that will help me find your Premium
Glossy profile for UC ink. thanks,
tomandmarj

Hi,

you can find the curve in the files section of the group:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/QuadtoneRIP/files/

I've also uploaded my other curves there.
