non Black ink limit

Further to Tom's excellent tutorial, most of the process to create characterization/linearization I assume I kind of understood. Setting density for the non black ink relative to the black one is fine. But what I can't figure out how to set the non-black ink limits. Tom explained the process relatively to toning which I'm not interested since I use Piezotone. So how do you determine Gray, light Gray ink limits in a "measured" way not through iterations ? Besides I read that when 2 positions hold the same ink (case with Piezo on a 6 head printer), the way to process is to have the density copied from the similar (let's say first) ink position and the ink limit to 100 so it matches the same curve-ink output for the same ink. Very last question in the case described above (same ink in 2 positions, second position is set at "copy from curve" of the first one and ink limit 100, does both nozzles fire simultaneously. The idea is simply to use inks from all bottles instead of turning somes nozzles off and then face the usual clogging. Thanks in advance. Olivier
