Create Curve

Create Curve

2008-01-16 by Rainer Taube

Hallo,

according to the Quad Tone Rip User Guide page 20 in the Curve Creator
Tool the Create Curve Button should be visible, in my case i only see
the Show Curve Button where the Create Curve Button should be.

I try to make a new Curve for Harman Gloss FB AI from an existing other
curve.

Where/Why did the Create Curve Button disappear? How can i create the
Curve now?

Best Regards

Advice on Calibration HW/Software

2008-01-17 by Ola Olsson

Hello,

I've just started using MIS Associates MK carbon inks in my R1800 and
am quite pleased. I realize however that I am going to have to
upgrade my calibration procedure to get my targeted results. Up to
now I've used X-Rite's EZcolor suite to calibrate my monitor and
printer. Colorvision's Spyder products seem to be the more
recommended. Paul Roarke recommends the PrintFixPro suite. The newer
product is Spyder 3 Studio. Does anyone have experience with these
and can offer a comparison. The pricing seems the same.

Best Regards,
Ola Olsson

Ola

If you are happy with EZColor for calibrating your monitor, you can just buy
PrintfixPro (Google finds various sources online for $350 and up). You can
then download Spider3Print from Colorvision as a free upgrade to the
PrintFixPro software. I have used PrintFixPro and Spyder3Suite and can't say
that I have noticed a difference between them, although my experience with
both is, as yet, limited.

Create Curve

2008-06-28 by Antonio Garcia

Hi,

First off all, sorry about my english.

I'm trying to make my first QTR curve (neutral) just now and have:

Epson Enhanced Matte
Epson 9800 with original UltraChrome Inks and MK
Eye One

I Know some of you may be tired with beginner questions but it's
inevitable... I swear that i've tried to get all from Tom Moore
tutorial but I really can't.

Well, I've printed the first ink pattern calibration and found that
65% is the point where the MK Lab values (measure tool) reach it
maximum.

Printed the second, 65%, ink pattern and found that 100% LB = 24% MK
and 100% LLB = 35% LB . Ok?

My questions are:

1. am I in the right way?
2. Do I need to found relative densities for color inks? (I want a
neutral profile) if I need: what's the way ?
3. at Create Curve dialog Box what is "limit" and how I determine it?
4. What is the next step?

Thanks for the patience,
