QuadToneRIP version 2.6.0 Release, Mac & PC

2008-03-23 by Roy Harrington

Mac Users -- please read note below!

QuadToneRIP version 2.6.0 Release Notes

Profiles for Piezography K6 inks on the 1400 printer included.
Support for new Claria Ink printers: R280, R380, and 1400
Support for new Pro Printers: 4880, 7880, and 9880

Additional version of Create-ICC with BPC (Black Point Compensation)
built into the curves. Some products need this for correct color management.

!! Mac Users take NOTE !!

Version 2.6 has a major change in the location on the disk of the QuadToneRIP product.
Previous versions before 2.6 resided in several "hidden" OS X system folders. Now there
are two folders that contain all the files for QuadToneRIP. The first folder is
/Applications/QuadToneRIP which contains all the user accessed programs, profiles
and other information. The other folder is /Library/Printers/QTR which contains
all the files accessed by the OS X print system. If you have used one of these
folder names for your own files you should be careful to save your files before
they are over-written.

New program QTR-CurveView shows nice graphic plot of .quad curve files.

Roy,

The Windows version appears to be missing the new Piezography K6
profiles for the EPSON 1400 printer.

Thanks,

Jon

QuadToneRIP version 2.6.1 Release, Mac & PC

2008-04-06 by Roy Harrington

Here's a new release that I think fixes the issues with the first 2.6 release.

On the Mac side:
Support for Tiger and Panther are fixed. Jaguar support is problematic using
Leopard for software development, so as of this new release I strongly
encourage anyone still using Jaguar to upgrade to Tiger or Leopard.
2.5.2 will still be available for Jaguar users.

On the PC side:
A few missing pieces have been corrected.

Roy

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
